The mission of turbotommyDesigns (aka ttD) is to provide affordable solutions to complex problems. This is possible through creative 3d design that turns a concept into reality.
turbotommyDesigns is on the cusp of unveiling an affordable solution to the faulty hydraulic spoiler on the 996tt . Also in development is a spoiler delete plug solution for the 996tt. The plug will eliminate the wing completely and will provide a duck-bill style appearance to the engine lid. Lastly, a micro switch replacement kit is also being developed. The replacement kit will replace the fragile oe micro switch with an affordable robust micro switch alternative.

Question : Answer
How does the 996tt wing retrofit kit work? The retrofit kit uses a custom designed linear actuator configuration to raise and lower the factory spoiler. The system resides within a modified oe hydraulic ram.
What are the power requirements of the 996tt wing retrofit kit ? The retrofit kit uses the factory wiring that powers the oe hydraulic system. The system also retains the factory micro switches. or you can upgrade to the ttD micro switch kit.
Does the 996tt wing retrofit kit raise and lower automatically? YES! The retrofit kit allows the spoiler to raise and lower at the factory settings.
Can I still use the switch in the console to control the wing? YES! The retrofit retains 100% of the manual functionality of the oe system.
Does the 996tt wing retrofit kit allow me to raise the wing higher than the oe wing? No. The factory micro switches control the height of the spoiler. The retrofit kit retains the factory limits as defined by the micro switches. This is also true even it you upgrade to the ttD micro switch kit.
Can I use the 996tt wing retrofit kit with the factory or aftermarket Y-Pipe? The retrofit kit is nearly identical to the oe ram dimensions. The retrofit kit will work with any Y-Pipe that was designed to accommodate the factory spoiler system.
Does the 996tt wing retrofit kit require an alteration to the oe rams? YES. The retrofit kit will require the ram body and ram cylinder to be drill out. This will permanently alter the ram. If you are considering the 996tt wing retrofit kit, then you probably have broken rams and this won't be an issue. NOTE, once they rams are modified, they will no long work as originally intended hydraulic cylinders.
